Emergency Action: Urge Progressives To Keep Standing Strong

Thanks for signing up to drop by your representative's office on Tuesday at noon. Your representative is one of a growing list who signed a letter circulated by the Congressional Progressive Caucus saying cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits are off the table. We'll encourage them to keep standing strong for us.

This weekend, it became 100% clear that Republicans would rather see America default, Social Security checks stop going out, the stock market plummet, and unemployment soar than give one inch on their position: that the very richest people and most profitable corporations shouldn't pay one penny more in taxes.

Step 3: Let the local media know.

Step 4: Once you're there, keep the energy high.

We're not showing up to stand outside of an office, we're there to share our message. Encourage people to share why they came out, lead group chants, and wave your signs to get cars passing by to honk in support—do whatever you can think of to keep the event fun and powerful. And once you have a critical mass of people, lead the group into your member of Congress's office to let his or her staff know why you're there.
